what the five-day line collects, who touches it, and what a stranger can see.
effective august 29, 2026 · Ligare Gatherings LLC, a texas limited liability company
this page covers the “start with one stranger” text program and morestrangers.com only. everything else — your broader data rights, our intellectual property, gatherings, tickets, and connection profiles — is governed by ligare's full privacy policy and terms, which apply here too. where the two ever disagree about this program, this page wins.
1. what we collect
- when you join the line: your first name, mobile number, zip code, and email if you give one — plus the date and time you consented.
- what you write to us: the text of your messages, and the screened version prepared for sharing.
- message records: the messages we send and receive on this line, with timestamps and delivery status.
- the other forms on this site (finding a table, bringing ligare to your people, getting in touch): your name, contact details, zip, and whatever you choose to tell us.
we do not run advertising trackers on morestrangers.com, and we do not buy data about you.
2. why we hold it
to run the five days, to keep the program safe through screening, to answer you when you write, to tell you occasionally about a gathering or a table near you, to understand how it is working, and to keep the records messaging rules require of us — in particular, proof that you consented.
we keep your number after the five days so we can do that last part. reply STOP at any time and we stop, permanently — during the five days or a year later.
3. your mobile information is never sold or shared for marketing
no mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party. information is shared only with the service providers in section 4, and only so that the program can run.
we do not sell your personal information.
4. who helps us run it
- twilio — sends and receives the messages.
- airtable — stores participant records and what you write.
- anthropic — screens what you write before it can be shared and prepares it for delivery. it sorts the mail; it does not write the messages you receive.
- railway — hosts this site and the software behind the line.
each processes this information on our behalf under its own terms, and none is permitted to use your mobile information for its own marketing.
4a. the number we text from
our messages come from (855) 777-9810. if a text claims to be ligare and comes from anywhere else, it is not us.
5. what other participants can see
another participant may see the screened text of something you wrote, signed with a short anonymous description that can include your general region — a state, or a large city. they never see your phone number, your email address, your full name, or your precise location.
please read section 4 of the terms before you write. the safe assumption is that anything you send may be read by a stranger.
6. how long we keep it, and how to be forgotten
participant records and writing are kept while the program runs and for a reasonable period afterward, so that we can honor opt-outs and evidence consent if a carrier asks.
you can ask us to delete your information at any time by writing to [email protected]. we will delete it, keeping only the minimal record of your opt-out — which exists precisely so that we never text you again. writing already delivered to another participant cannot be retrieved, but we will remove it from any future sharing.
7. your choices
reply STOP to end the messages at once. reply HELP for help. you may ask what we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask for deletion, at [email protected]. depending on where you live you may have further rights, described in ligare's full privacy policy; tell us what you want and we will honor it.
8. not for children
this program is for people 18 and older. we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. if you believe a minor has signed up, write to us and we will remove them.
9. security, honestly stated
we take reasonable measures to protect what you give us, and we hold as little as we can. no service can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise.
10. changes, and reaching a person
if this page changes materially we will post the new version here with a new effective date. questions go to [email protected] — a human reads those.
